2023-2024 Club Policies

2023-2024 Yellow Jackets Policies

Long Island Elite Lacrosse’s Elite travel program is referred to as “Yellow Jackets” and is a private club. The purpose of “Yellow Jackets” is to provide top-level training and opportunities for exposure for those athletes whose goal it is to compete at the highest levels while in high school, and eventually to play at the collegiate level.  Membership on this team is by try-out only and players must renew yearly. Prior membership on “Yellow Jackets” does not guarantee future membership. Team designation may also change from one year to the next.

Yellow Jackets Team Rules/Expectations

All Players are students first and must maintain good academic standing.

All Players must have respect for all those involved in the program (team members, coaches, parents, officials, opponents, etc).  Language, back-talking or fighting will not be tolerated and can result in termination from the team.

All Players are responsible for their own actions both on and off the field. It is expected that all players conduct themselves appropriately.

All Players should dedicate themselves to improving every day. Working hard, Maintaining a positive attitude, Showing up on time, Encouraging teammates.

All Players Demonstrate respect for coaches, opponents and officials before, during and after contests.

All Players are expected to attend all practices and tournaments. If a player is consistently absent, their placement on the team will be in jeopardy and subject to dismissal.

All Players must maintain their player profile on Teamsportsinfo site . ( US Lax Number, DOB etc..) Do NOT USE OPTONLINE.NET

All Players must have current membership with US Lacrosse - failure to maintain this membership will result in removal from the roster.

All Players and parents must make sure they are receiving e-mails from Coach Rose, and check their e-mails and website frequently.

Players should arrive at the field for tournaments 1 hour before their first scheduled game and 30 minutes before each subsequent game. They should be in full uniform and prepared to warm up at that time. Being on time is the PLAYERS responsibility – not the parents. If this rule is not adhered to, the player will lose playing time for that game.

Players are discouraged from joining or committing to other travel lacrosse programs that interfere with their participation on the Yellow Jackets. If “Yellow Jackets” are attending a given tournament, our players who are interested in attending that tournament must play on the “Yellow Jacket” roster. We do not want to compete against our own players.

One of the ultimate goals of the “Yellow Jacket” program is to teach player responsibility. We hold them accountable for their actions and decisions. Therefore, players are instructed to handle all communications with their “Yellow Jacket” coaches. These skills are essential in developing our players for future college play.
